That Helps You Get Back to YourselfRehabilitation

Recovery is rarely just physical. It’s the moment someone realizes they can stand a little longer, walk a little farther or return to a routine that once felt uncertain.

At St. Joseph Village, rehabilitation is designed to help individuals move forward with confidence after illness, injury or surgery. Our therapy teams work one-on-one with each resident, creating personalized plans that focus on the whole person, not simply a diagnosis or discharge date.

Whether arriving after a hospital stay or navigating a new health challenge, residents are supported by experienced professionals who understand that healing includes reassurance, encouragement and the steady return of independence.

Care That Starts with Understanding You

Rehabilitation begins with listening.

Each individual receives a comprehensive evaluation that considers:

  • Prior level of independence
  • Personal goals and lifestyle preferences
  • Medical history and current condition
  • Strength, balance and endurance
  • Speech, cognition or swallowing needs when appropriate

From there, a customized therapy plan is developed in coordination with physicians and care teams. Therapy services may include:

  • Physical therapy to rebuild strength, mobility and balance
  • Occupational therapy to support daily living skills and independence
  • Speech therapy to address communication, cognition and swallowing challenges

All sessions are delivered one-on-one by licensed therapists and adjusted as progress is made.

Support That Moves with Your Recovery

Rehabilitation services at St. Joseph Village may be provided up to seven days per week and, when appropriate, more than once daily to support steady progress.

Our programs commonly support recovery from:

  • Joint replacement and orthopedic procedures
  • Stroke and neurological conditions
  • Cardiac events and heart surgery
  • Pulmonary and respiratory conditions
  • Fractures and mobility challenges
  • Chronic conditions such as diabetes or renal disease
  • Pain management and arthritis

Progress is monitored closely, with consistent communication among therapists, nurses and physicians to ensure safe and effective recovery.

Working Toward What Comes Next

Discharge planning begins early. From the first day, teams work toward helping individuals return home safely whenever possible.

Successful rehabilitation often includes:

  • Improved mobility and endurance
  • Increased independence with daily activities
  • Enhanced communication and cognitive clarity
  • Greater confidence navigating daily routines

Recovery is measured not only by milestones but by readiness to return to what matters most.
