In honor of Juneteenth, author and historian Barbara Olenyik Morrow will present a program on Indiana’s role in the Underground Railroad. She’ll share the inspiring story of Levi and Catharine Coffin, whose Fountain City home became known as the “Grand Central Station” for freedom seekers before the Civil War. The talk will also explore a dramatic 1839 court case involving two runaways from Tennessee whom the Coffins helped shelter. Morrow drew on these events for her book “A Good Night for Freedom,” praised as a “gripping tale” by Publishers Weekly. Don’t miss this powerful look at courage and compassion in our state’s history.
