Chicago, IL – St. Joseph Village of Chicago, a Franciscan Community and part of Franciscan Ministries, sponsored by the Franciscan Sisters of Chicago, has been awarded the Founding Member Award in recognition of 100 years of membership with LeadingAge Illinois.
St Joseph Village has proudly received the Founding Member Award from LeadingAge Illinois in recognition of 100 years of outstanding membership. The award was presented to the community during LeadingAge Illinois’ 100th anniversary celebration held on July 29, 2024. The organization honored St. Joseph Village during a special ceremony, in which the community received recognition for a century of excellent partnership.
Originally founded in 1894, by our Foundress, Mother Mary Theresa Dudzik, and known at that time, as St. Joseph Home for the Aged, it was Chicago’s first Catholic senior living community. Continuing the legacy, St. Joseph Village was erected in 2006, honoring St. Joseph Home for the Aged and offers rehabilitation, assisted living and memory care.
The Founding Member Award recognizes organizations that have made outstanding contributions to the field of senior living and healthcare and have been actively involved in advancing the mission of LeadingAge. St Joseph Village was honored for its long-standing commitment to providing exceptional care and support to seniors, reflecting the core values of LeadingAge Illinois.
Regina Umanskiy, President and CEO of Franciscan Ministries, accepted the award on behalf of St. Joseph Village and expressed her deepest gratitude and pride. Umanskiy stated,
“Receiving this award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of all our associates at St. Joseph Village. It’s an honor to be recognized by LeadingAge Illinois, and we are excited to continue our Mission of Celebrate Life and Serve with Joy to our residents, while providing premiere services and enhancing the quality of life and care for older adults.”
