The Madonna Foundation

Scholarship Opportunities to Promote Empowerment & Academic Achievement

Make a Donation →

Established in 2001 by the Franciscan Sisters of Chicago, the Madonna Foundation awards scholarships to female students of all faiths who demonstrate financial need and a desire for academic success. They are the only scholarship organization in the Chicago region focusing exclusively on women’s secondary education.

Without the Foundation’s financial aid, these young women could not afford to attend Catholic high schools. When you donate to the Madonna Foundation, you’re giving young women the tools, resources and opportunities to excel inside and outside the classroom.

Along with tuition scholarships, the Madonna Foundation provides additional programs each academic year focusing on:

  • College readiness
  • Financial literacy
  • Academic support
  • Leadership training
  • Service learning
  • Spiritual well-being

home-1bThe crucial combination of academic support and programming distinguishes the Madonna Foundation from other scholarship programs in the area. Madonna Scholars build meaningful, productive and successful lives and will be the next generation of educated and compassionate leaders.

The Franciscan Sisters of Chicago formed the Madonna Foundation to carry on their legacy of educating young women in the Catholic tradition of excellence. The Foundation educates the whole person by instilling the Franciscan values of Respect, Dedication, Stewardship and Joy.

The Madonna Foundation’s mission is to educate young women from the Chicago area who face barriers in order to transform lives and launch bright futures by providing access to academic excellence at a single-gender Catholic high school.

By investing in the education of young women, they can achieve what they never thought possible and become the next generation of educated, compassionate leaders and philanthropists.
