Ensuring Support when it Matters Most

For more than 130 years, the Franciscan Sisters of Chicago and Franciscan Ministries have served older adults with compassion, respect and unwavering commitment. The Gift of Care program continues that legacy by providing financial assistance to residents of our communities who experience unexpected hardship.

Long-term care can become financially overwhelming. When personal resources are no longer enough, the Gift of Care program helps ensure that residents do not have to leave the community they call home.

A Promise to Stand Beside Residents

Gift of Care is more than financial support. It is a commitment.

Franciscan Ministries may underwrite all or a portion of a resident’s care for a defined period of time, based on established financial criteria. This support helps preserve stability, continuity of relationships and peace of mind.

Residents remain surrounded by familiar faces, trusted caregivers and a community that knows them. Families are reassured that dignity will never be compromised by circumstance.

Rooted in Franciscan Tradition

As a nonprofit ministry, Franciscan Communities promotes dignified living, companionship and compassionate service.

The Gift of Care program reflects the spirit of our foundress, Mother Mary Theresa Dudzik, who responded to the needs of the elderly and underserved with courage and humility.

Serving those in need is not an added program. It is part of who we are.

Each Franciscan community strives to make the Gift of Care program available to qualified applicant residents who require financial assistance to continue receiving compassionate senior care services.
