Regina Umanskiy became the Franciscan Ministries President and Chief Executive Officer in July 2022. Prior to leading the Ministry, she served as Vice President of Operations and Integrated Solutions for Senior Lifestyle Corporation in Chicago. A forward-thinking, strategic operations executive, Regina brings more than two decades of leadership experience in the senior living industry. She is skilled in developing client relations, cultivating business growth opportunities and implementing programs to drive resident and associate engagement. Regina received a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Notre Dame and holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Ursuline College. She is also a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator.

Karen Larson joined Franciscan Ministries as Chief Operating Officer in August 2022. Karen is a seasoned senior management professional with over 20 years of progressive leadership in Life Plan Communities with multi-facility, not-for-profit organizations. She most recently served as Vice President of Operations for Christian Horizons. Karen has a bachelor’s degree in science from the University of Illinois and a master’s degree in public health from the University of Illinois School of Public Health. She is a licensed Nursing Home Administrator in Iowa, Illinois and Indiana. Additionally, Karen serves on the LeadingAge Illinois Finance Committee and Board of Directors.

Bob Rosenberger joined Franciscan Ministries as Chief Financial Officer in April 2023. He comes to us with more than 25 years of leadership and finance experience. Bob has held senior-level financial positions at a variety of hospitals and health systems, including Heritage Valley Health System in Beaver, PA; Amita Health in Chicago, IL; Adena Health in Chillicothe, OH; and Centegra Health System in Crystal Lake, IL. In prior roles, Bob has improved retention levels of 40% within the Finance Department as well as directed a $200M bond refinancing, generating $40M of cash over the first 4 years while decreasing maximum annual debt service by 10%. He has an MBA and a BS in Finance from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois.

Lindsey Lavery joined Franciscan Ministries in November of 2023 and brings with her 20 years of senior living experience. She has a strong passion for sales and marketing, and for the impact of a positive sales culture on a company’s success. Prior to joining Franciscan Ministries, she served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Encore Senior Living and previously as Vice President of Sales Training and Talent Development at Senior Lifestyle Corporation. She is an integral contributor to the seniors housing leadership team and believes leaders must lead by example to foster a positive company culture. Lindsey holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Eastern Illinois University and a Master’s Degree in Gerontology and Sociology from Roosevelt University in Chicago.

Nancy Salerno joined Franciscan Ministries as our Chief People Officer in June 2024. She has over 15 years of experience in leadership, human resources and business operations. Nancy is deeply passionate about human resources and firmly believes that exceptional associate engagement is essential for providing outstanding resident care. Nancy’s impressive career includes 9 years as the Director of Talent Acquisition at Senior Lifestyle, where she significantly reduced time-to-fill and turnover and cut agency spending by implementing an in-house recruitment team. Prior to that, she spent 5 years at Addison Group, where she earned the prestigious Echelon Club Award. Nancy holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology and communications from Purdue University.

Brian Reinhold joined Franciscan Ministries as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer in June 2024. Prior to joining the Ministry, Brian was in-house counsel for Lutheran Senior Services and brings experience providing legal guidance balanced by the operational and strategic needs of the senior living industry. Brian received a juris doctorate from Washington University in St. Louis and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Brigham Young University. Brian is licensed to practice law in Illinois, Missouri and California, as well as the US Patent Bar.

Ed Page joined Franciscan Ministries in 2024. He has over 30 years of IT management and leadership experience working for large IT service providers and consulting firms focused on achieving operating efficiencies and cost savings. With a diverse background, Ed has held senior-level IT positions concentrating on IT strategy, information governance, risk mitigation and security to develop efficient IT service delivery and technology aligned with organizational needs and objectives. He most recently served as Vice President of IT for Harbor Global Consulting. Ed has a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems from Rockford University.

Tara Segal joined Franciscan Ministries as Chief Mission Integration and Pastoral Care Officer in August 2025. Tara comes to Franciscan Ministries with more than 15 years in mission integration and campus ministry. Most recently, Tara served as Assistant Vice President of Mission and Ministry at Dominican University in River Forest, Illinois. Tara earned a Doctor of Ministry degree as a Joseph Cardinal Bernardin Scholar at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago, Illinois. She holds a Master of Arts in Theology from the Catholic Theological Union and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Language and Literature from the Catholic University of America.
